Meeting safely

• Meet in public at a real social first — never a private location for a first meeting.
• Tell a friend where you’re going and when.
• Trust your gut. You can leave, stop dancing, or stop messaging at any time.
• If something feels wrong at a venue, talk to the staff or security.

Report or block someone

In any conversation, tap the ⚑ flag in the top-right to Block & unmatch (you stop appearing to each other and can’t message) or Report (choose a reason, add details). Reporting also blocks the person and files a moderation case we review. You can also email safety@stepin.dance with anything that needs attention.

What we act on

• Harassment, repeated unwanted contact, threats, or intimidation.
• Unwanted touching or unsafe dance-floor behavior.
• Scams, money / gift-card / crypto requests.
• Fake profiles, impersonation, or stolen photos.
• Underage-user concerns, hate, exploitation, or illegal activity.

How we respond

Depending on severity we may warn, limit, suspend, or remove an account, and preserve evidence. Critical safety risks are prioritized.

Emergencies

If you are in immediate danger, contact venue staff or your local emergency services (911 in the US) first. We are not an emergency service.
